SOCIETY INFORMATION

The Flat-Coated Retriever Society of Canada was founded in September 1975 by a small, but dedicated, group of breed fanciers consisting of not only Canadian members, but also international individuals.

From small beginnings the Society has grown to well over 100 members representing all parts of Canada.  Our goal has always been, and remains, educating people about the Flat-Coated Retriever while helping to protect the breed’s legacy and it’s future.  75% of these members are actively involved in Conformation, Obedience, Field, Tracking and Agility. Membership in the Society is open to anyone.

Under the Canadian Kennel Club rules, the Society annually holds a National Specialty as well as boosters (supported entries), agility trials and field events across the country.

The Society’s members receive the newsletter “Flat Out” twice per year plus the Yearbook.  Both publications are filled with informative articles and information keeping members abreast of club activities
